Hey! Anybody want to guess where I am?! It's a pretty cool place! I'm back in crazy Houston! My area is different, but it will be something to remember! I'm now serving in the Sunny Side Branch. It's a super small branch with hardly any priesthood holders. It's really cool to be a part of it all really. The branch is struggling, but we're going to make it a ward soon! Just got to get out and teach people!!! ;-) I'll just go convert everybody by the power of the Spirit and achieve all thousand baptisms in Sunny Side. Doesn't that sound great?! :)
My new companion's name is Sister ----. She is very sweet and very blonde...it's been fun. I enjoy getting to know her and trying to figure out how to teach with her style and my style. It's great how Heavenly Father uses each of us and our talents specifically. We all have something to offer whether it be gold, sheep, music, knowledge, sincerety, etc. There really is too much to list, and we've all got something to give that He knows just how to use.
A lot of people have hit some hard times here in Sunny Side, but the Lord continues to strengthen His covenant keeping people. They actually have called people from other wards to attend the Sunny Side Branch and serve here. I thought it was cool that so many people were so willing to serve their fellow brother and sisters even if that means driving farther for church and picking people up on the way.
We actually hold service in the Instititute building for a college in our area. It's pretty exciting. And I get the blessed opportunity to teach seminary every Monday morning at 6 in the a.m. That's super fun! We talk about PMG and how to prepare and become missionaries.
I also got to ride on my bike, but we really try and do that during the day because it's a little sketchy at night. But don't worry about anything the Lord protects His servants! I love Him and He loves you! Remember how special you are to me! I hope everyone has a most wonderful week!
Forever,
Sis. Chris.
Funny story....people still have a hard time with my name, but they have an even harder time here. It's great fun! :)
